Scott Elder is a junior at BRMHS and has been playing bass for ten years. Scott is classically trained and started playing jazz in the sixth grade. His various accolades include participation in All-State and All-Parish Honor Bands. He most recently won the Louisiana Music Teacher's Association State Strings Rally in 2015. Scott is the co-founder of The Sun Room and his influences include Christopher Frazier, Yung-Chiao Wei, James Jamerson, and Thundercat.

Zahria is a sophomore at BRMHS and has been playing the tenor sax for three years. Her love for music has landed her spots in the All-Parish and All-State bands during high school. Some of her musical influences are Hank Mobley, Wynton Kelly, and Kamasi Washington.

Jarrett Gustafson is a sophomore at BRMHS and has been playing the guitar for four years. Jarrett began singing and playing piano at age 5 and played violin throughout elementary school. He has received awards in local adjudicated piano events including Solo fest and District rally, but he later decided to play the guitar and has continued to in high school. Jarrett is the co-founder of The Sun Room and his influences include Guthrie Govan, Misha Mansoor, and Joe Pass.

 

Jarrett Gustafson

Seth Finch is in the eighth grade at University Laboratory School. He has been playing classical piano since he was 5 years old. He has won several awards, including the DeBose National Piano Competition, Piano Rally, and Bach Contest. Seth also plays alto sax and has participated in All-Parish, All-District and All-Parish Jazz Honor Bands. Some of Seth’s influences are Herbie Hancock, Chick Corea, Kenny Werner, and Thelonious Monk.

Seth Finch

De'Unn Quiett is a junior at BRMHS and has been drumming for six years, and playing kit for two. He is also a composer and a vibes player. Playing in and out of school has allowed De'Unn to further develop his strengths not only as a musician but also as a writer. De’Unn has earned top honors in All-State band this year. His influences include Buddy Rich, Philly Joe, Eric Harland, and Brian Blade.

 

De’Unn Quiett

Tamirra Johnson is a senior at BRMHS and has been singing almost all her life. Tamirra started singing in church and in front of family members. She finds that music is universal, bringing people together that may not have met otherwise, and the effect that a vocalist can have on an audience is tremendous and powerful. Tamirra's influences include Amy Winehouse, Beyoncé, Stevie Wonder, and Lianne La Havas.
